Increased Affordable Housing and New Library

PATH played a key role in supporting and getting the County Council to fund a world class library and the development of a minimum of 240 units of housing in downtown, 120 of which would be affordable to seniors, teachers, and others who work but cannot afford to live in Howard County. This not only increases the amount of affordable housing in downtown Columbia, it provides an important learning institution and gathering space accessible to everyone, as the physical and cultural center of Columbia.

PATH leaders sent hundreds of emails, and testified and showed up by the dozens at hearings to support this controversial plan. We are excited to see it unfold in the upcoming years!
